WASTE MANAGEMENT RESEARCH GROUP (WMRG)
Waste Management Research Group (WMRG) focuses on the biological treatment of various wastes. Our focuses include, but are not limited to, biological treatment of organic wastes i.e., food waste, sludge, aquatic and terrestrial weeds through composting, vermi-composting and anaerobic digestion. WMRG also deals with the isolation and characterization of metal resistant microbes.

The vision of Waste Management Research Group is to explore innovative methodologies of sustainable waste management turning “Waste into Wealth”.

  • Development of new technologies in the field of Integrated Waste management comprising of Composting, Anaerobic Digestion, Biosorption, Life Cycle Assessment, Water Quality and other aspects related to wastes are the goals and objectives of the “Waste Management Research Group.” .
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), established in 1994, is one of the leading institutes of technology and excellence in India. At present, the institute has eleven departments and five interdisciplinary academic centers. IITG has a world-class infrastructure and has state of the art scientific and engineering instruments for carrying out advanced research. IITG's campus is on a sprawling 704.25 acres plot on the north bank of river Brahmaputra, around 20 km from the heart of Guwahati city. Guwahati is connected with many major cities of India by road and air. Institute buses are available from Guwahati city (railway station and airport) to IITG campus.
